WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. It is a state of increased concentration and focus on one thought, idea, or person (not a sleep state). Hypnosis is entered into by choice, and can be interrupted or terminated at will. Contrary to some beliefs, hypnosis is a safe trance. A person cannot be "hypnotized" against their will.
Change in one's life takes place because the person makes an active decision to improve the quality of their life and hypnosis is a powerful tool for effectuating change.
Hypnosis is an "alpha state" which corresponds to the subconscious mind, and has 95-100% concentration efficiency. The information our five senses picks up, as well as ESP is permanently stored in our memory bank (subconscious mind) which operates like a computer and is programmed. Meditation and daydreaming are also "alpha" state activities. The "beta" or conscious state has 25% efficiency.
Hypnosis is a valuable tool to reprogram the subconscious mind which activates and controls our memories, emotions, and habit patterns. Some of the most common and successful areas for hypnosis are: to reduce and control stress, improve sleep and insomnia challenges, reduce or eliminate muscles aches and pains, fears and phobias, reduce examination anxiety, improve memory, weight loss, smoking cessation, self-esteem and motivation, sports, creativity and many other issues and/or challenges.
